The world’s largest tyre and rubber company plans to invest over 160 MM in the capital city of Wielkopolska Region. The objective to be met by 2022 is to increase the number of produced tyres by over 30 proc. to 40 thousand per day.
- All of the already completed and ongoing projects make up a very important investment for our plant, which we commenced in autumn of 2017. To our satisfaction, we have completed the previous stages smoothly. We are currently able to achieve an astounding production capacity of 35 199 tyres per day - with this record set on January 4 this year says - Roman Staszewski, Managing Director of Bridgestone Poznań.
Bridgestone is not slacking off. The tyre manufacturer has just launched the next stage of the investment project, namely, the construction of new production halls. These will be the Mixing and Curing buildings, with a total area exceeding 50 thousand m2. The ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the construction of these facilities took place on January 20.

Owing to the expansion of the production halls, Bridgestone will have the ability to contribute to the positive economic situation of the region even more - said the guest of honour to the event, Jacek Jaśkowiak, President of the City of Poznan.
The expansion of the factory in Poznan is not just new buildings, but also involves new production equipment and machines - We have installed, are installing or will install in the nearest future 67 new machines. Each of these devices is fitted with the latest technological solutions available on the market - emphasizes Roman Staszewski.
40k Investment program
All of these activities are aimed at improving the output of the factory in Poznan and boosting the production volume to over 40k tyres per day, while - owing to automaton and streamlining processes - simultaneously increasing the work-related comfort of our employees.
One of the most important events last year was launching of an expanded tyres warehouse at Bałtycka street in Poznan. Its current floor area is 65 thousand m2 and it can hold up to as many as one million tyres. Other last year's investments included, expansion of modern infrastructure needed to implement this huge investment. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2022 - when the plant will reach its full production capacity.
- This project is a response to the constantly growing demand for our tyres, which also includes, among others, the Bridgestone premium products manufactured in Poznan - such as the Turanza tyres, whose high quality is recognized worldwide - summarizes Roman Staszewski.
Bridgestone has a stable position among the major investors in Wielkopolska. Two of the production plants - in Poznan and Stargard - are one of the most modern passenger car and truck tyre factories in Europe. The concern employs almost 2 thousand people at Poznan plant.
