Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd., today announced the opening of Garmin Wroclaw, an advanced manufacturing and distribution facility serving automotive OEM and consumer electronics customers in Europe.

The BREEAM-certified facility includes almost 319,000 square feet/30,000 square meters of state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution space dedicated to the production and delivery of in-vehicle infotainment systems and other automotive electronics. Located in the SEGRO Logistics Park Wroclaw and near the intersection of Poland’s busy A4 and A8 motorways, Garmin’s new facility will allow for efficient distribution across Europe.

“With nearby highway and airport access and a quality workforce, Wroclaw provided an ideal location for Garmin’s first manufacturing facility focused on serving our automotive customers in Europe,” said Sean Biddlecombe, Garmin EMEA managing director. “Garmin conducted an extensive search across Europe before selecting Wroclaw, and we wish to thank the local and regional authorities, as well as SEGRO, for their partnership throughout the development process.”

Garmin will begin prototype production at the facility this year with delivery of consumer products beginning in 2021 and delivery of the first vehicle-ready systems expected in 2022. The company is currently hiring process engineers, technicians and assembly operators as the facility prepares to ramp up production.
