Production of a three-door version of Astra IV at General Motors Manufacturing Poland (GMMP)’s plant in Gliwice will begin three months earlier than initially planned, Andrzej Korpak, director of GMMP, told reporters in a meeting with GM Poland’s top management.
The so-called Job 1 is to begin on 14 October 2011. Currently, the Gliwice plant plans to make 170 thousand vehicles next year.
“Almost 159 thousand vehicles will have rolled off our assembly lines by the end of this year,” Andrzej Korpak told AutomotiveSuppliers.pl.
