Varroc Lighting Systems, a leading global supplier of innovative exterior vehicle lighting systems and electronics, today announced the construction of a new manufacturing plant in Niemce, Poland.
Construction of the plant began in November and should be completed during the third quarter of 2019. The 25,000-square meter plant will produce head lamps and projectors and is expected to reach its full capacity in 2020.
"This greenfield location continues the expansion of our global engineering and production capabilities," said Varroc Lighting Systems President and CEO Stephane Vedie. "Our facilities in Poland, along with our locations in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Morocco, Romania, and Turkey create a robust and cost-competitive footprint to serve our European customers."
The Niemce location is Varroc Lighting's 2nd location in Poland, joining the company's Engineering Center in Krakow. Upon completion, the Niemce plant will be Varroc Lighting's 14th manufacturing facility, all of which are in cost-competitive countries.
"The Lublin/Niemce site was selected based on the skills and competencies of available labor in eastern Poland," said Vedie. "Many of the approximately 350 positions at this facility will require high levels of technical education, and the region's available talent aligns well with our needs."
The announcement of the Niemce facility comes as Varroc has completed manufacturing plants in Brazil and Morocco, and closes out a year of strategic organic and inorganic growth. In 2018, the company opened an office in Japan, began an electronics joint venture with ELBA in Romania, and acquired Sa-ba, a small lighting manufacturer based in Turkey and Bulgaria.
