Nidec Motors & Actuators is the first Japanese company to have invested in Kraków special economic zone. Now it has received a support decision for another development, and declares outlay of at least PLN 165,210,000.
Current investment by Nidec Motors & Actuators, producer of electric motors, and car parts and accessories, follows the company’s boost of production capacity. The expansion will allow to produce and sell latest-generation brushless motors for ABS systems for leading automotive manufacturers. Plans also include stepping up the production of subcomponents, currently purchased from third-party vendors. The company also intends to expand its R&D division. The plant of Nidec Motors & Actuators is situated in Niepołomice.
- We are also glad to see that development as Marshal Tomasz Urynowicz and I had the opportunity to visit Nidec headquarters in Japan and meet representatives of Nidec in June during a mission organised by the Office of the Marshal of Małopolska - Wojciech Przybylski, CEO of the KPT explains.
- The new investment by Nidec Motors and Actuators will significantly contribute to the economic development of our region - Tomasz Urynowicz, deputy marshal of the Małopolska Region added.
The Japanese manufacturer began its operation in Poland in 2006, when it took over part of Valeo operations. The original production site was situated in Zielonki near Kraków. The following step on the company’s trail of development was the construction of a new plant in Kraków special economic zone in Niepołomice. The Kraków Technology Park issued the permit for the development on 7 April 2008, and the grand opening took place just a year later. The company’s original declaration assumed investment of PLN 56 million and 500 new jobs: 11 years later, the actual outlay in Niepołomice exceeded PLN280 million, and work was given to 600 people.
- It is also worthwhile to note the exceedingly dynamic development of Nidec Group in the global market. Incorporated by its charismatic leader, Mr Shigenobu Nagamori, and his three colleagues, the company currently employs 130,000 people in dozens of countries. The presence of a company of such a global renown is a great benefit for Małopolska economy, not only thanks to the investments and new jobs. The impact on the promotion of Małopolska among Japanese companies is also very significant - Krystyna Sadowska, director of the investor support department adds.
