On 18 October 2013, Sanden Manufacturing Poland Sp. z o.o. officially opened its new production hall and celebrated the production of its ten millionth compressor. In 2012 Sanden Manufacturing Poland launched a project involving an extension of its Polkowice facility. As part of the project, Sanden built a new production hall covering 13.5 thousand sq m. The total value of the project will be approx. PLN 250 million, and the project itself will create 250 new jobs.
To date, the company has started up two lines for manufacturing casings and a line for pistons within its mechanical processing department and a line for high-pressure casting of aluminium casings for compressors. Work on new lines is under way and the project is scheduled for completion in 2015.
The opening ceremony coincided with the production of the ten millionth compressor at the Polkowice plant.Sanden Manufacturing Poland has been operating within the Legnica Special Economic Zone since 2004. The Polkowice factory is the main supplier of compressors for such renowned car makers as Volkswagen, Opel, Ford and Aston Martin. Since 2009, every single Jaguar has been equipped with a compressor made in Polkowice.
