vwmp On 3 April 2013, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of a new production hall at the site of Volkswagen Motor Polska’s plant in Polkowice.

From 2015, the company will manufacture state-of-the-art 1.6l and 2.0l diesel engines based on the MDB modular design technology. The new production hall will increase Volkswagen’s production capacity from the current 2,400 engines to 3,400 engines per day.

”The new production hall will enable us to increase our production considerably. We will be able to manufacture as many as one million diesel engines every year by 2018,” said Christian Bleiel, the CEO and general manager of the car maker’s Polkowice plant at the foundation stone laying ceremony.
