On 2 January 2013, the Council of Ministers issued an amendment to the Economy Minister’s regulation on the Kraków Special Economic Zone. The amended regulation will come into force on 31 January 2013. At least 915 new jobs will be created as a result new projects located in areas included in the zone.
For example, Valeo Autosystemy sp. z o.o. is planning two modernisation projects at its facilities in Skawina and Chrzanów.
At the Skawina facility, the department for the manufacture of engine cooling systems and wipers and the R&D department will be extended. Valeo will spend PLN 92 million to construct to new production buildings and to buy new machines and equipment. The new project will create at least 433 new jobs. Its completion is planned for 31 December 2014.
The Chrzanów plan will get a line for the manufacture of new halogen lamps. The project, which will cost over PLN 37 million, will include the construction, by July 2014, of a production and warehousing hall equipped with an innovative technological line. The project will create 80 new jobs.
